Central cooling and heating supply for industrial production processes.
KSI Kältetechnik realised, at the Zella-Mehlis site, a central cooling and heating system for industrial production processes for an internationally leading company in the plastics industry. The planning was carried out entirely in 3D and enabled precise coordination of all components and pipe routes.
Planning and system concept: The system combines natural refrigerants with heat pump technology for flexible cooling, heating and free-cooling operation. Here, the cold and warm sides of the heat pump are used simultaneously to cool and heat processes efficiently.
Central cooling and heat generation: the entire regulation is based on a Siemens system with visualisation and secure remote access. Installation took place alongside ongoing production, without any interruption to processes.
Technical features: All pumps are designed with full redundancy and ensure continuous system operation. The dynamic operation flexibly adapts cooling, heating and free cooling operation to current demand. This reduces energy consumption and operating costs.
Control: A Siemens central control system controls all operating states and enables transparent system management.
Operating concept: The plant room was outdoor area realised. The system was set up without interrupting production.
