Project description
We carried out a comprehensive modernization of an existing cooling system for TÜV SÜD, during which all fittings were replaced.
This extensive project involved the replacement of over 200 fittings of various sizes, from DN25 to DN200. The replacement of these components was a crucial step in improving the efficiency and longevity of the cooling system.
In addition to the fittings, we also changed the cooling medium. The new medium is better adapted to the requirements of the system and results in less wear on the fittings, which reduces maintenance costs and extends the service life of the entire system.
The biggest challenge of this project was the tight schedule. Despite the difficulties caused by the poor availability of supplier parts, we were able to complete the project successfully and on time.
Another important aspect of the project was the documentation of all the torques of the fittings. This accurate record enabled us to check the quality of our work and ensure that all components were installed correctly.
The TÜV SÜD test laboratory in Olching near Munich offers the widest range of testing options for refrigeration and air conditioning technology in Europe.
Prototype and product testing of refrigeration appliances and components for clients is carried out on an area of 8,500 square meters.
One focus of the refrigeration and air conditioning technology laboratory is the testing of equipment for the temperature-controlled transportation of food and pharmaceutical products and for maintaining the cold chain in logistics. This also includes testing refrigeration appliances such as refrigerated counters or heat pumps or refrigeration components such as heat exchangers, compressors, fans or fittings.
The site is also home to one of the most modern sound laboratories for technical acoustics in Europe.
