Modernisation of the cold and hot brine system for testing and industrial applications
KSI Kältetechnik modernised the existing cold and hot brine system for testing and industrial applications for TÜV SÜD Industrieservice in Munich. The aim was to carry out a technical refurbishment of the plant within a short timeframe and to bring it back into safe operation within a tight schedule.
Planning: The planning focused on rapid technical development and the targeted safeguarding of the supply chain. This meant that the required components could be procured on schedule, despite tight market conditions.
Cold & Hot Brine System: The existing system was fitted with high-precision fittings, control valves and an integrated vacuum degassing system. This resulted in stable and reproducible operating conditions for subsequent use in testing and industrial applications.
Technical features: A key component of the project was close project management, involving technical support and ongoing coordination of all delivery and installation stages. Despite lead times of up to 20 weeks for chemical fittings, the plant was completed on schedule thanks to targeted procurement, technical coordination and just-in-time deliveries.
Fittings and installation: All fittings were made from high-alloy stainless steel and fitted with special seals. The documented torque monitoring of all bolted connections ensured that the assembly was carried out professionally and would remain safe in the long term.
Process integration: In addition, a vacuum degassing system was integrated into the system and incorporated into the testing process. This ensured that stable and reproducible operating conditions were maintained at all times.
Quality assurance: Thanks to documented assembly, tested seals and monitored bolted joints, a consistently safe and verifiable standard of plant quality has been achieved.
