Centralised energy supply for the new development in Töpen
A high-performance system was installed for the new central warehouse in Töpen Energy Centre which centralises the generation of cooling and heating, as well as the entire energy distribution system. The aim was to provide a technically sound and robust supply solution for the new logistics site.
The plant was designed so that all key components work together as part of a coordinated overall system. In addition to the mechanical installation, the project also involved the full integration of Switchgear, Control and Regulation Technology as well as the connection to the Facilities Management.
Planning and implementation: The planning work comprised the complete design of the energy centre, including Cold brine, hot brine and heating distribution as well as all technical interfaces. This made it possible to coordinate the entire supply system precisely and integrate it into the new building in a structured manner.
At the heart of the facility is the centralised generation of cooling and heating, with integrated Heat pump and Cold brine generator. This combination lays the foundations for efficient and stable operation.
An overview of the technical features: A key feature of the plant is the 100 per cent redundancy of all pumps. This ensures that the power supply remains reliable even in the event of partial failures, and operations can continue with a high level of availability.
The Cooling and heating capacity is dynamically controlled and adjusted to current loads. This improves energy efficiency and ensures that the system operates in line with demand.
Control and remote access: A Siemens-based central control system is used. It integrates cooling, heating, distribution systems and switchgear into a single control system. This allows all operating conditions to be monitored transparently and controlled precisely.
In addition, they enable secure remote access and Remote control rapid analysis and immediate adjustments whilst the plant is in operation. This increases the speed of response and supports safe, optimised plant operation.
