Project description

We were commissioned to design and install a refrigeration system for a canteen kitchen in the renowned Landshut Clinic. The system consists of a refrigeration center with rapid cooler, cold rooms and other components, which are divided into two levels.

The first level of the system is responsible for normal cooling. Their primary task is to keep certain foods, such as meat, at a specific temperature level.

The second level, on the other hand, is used for deep-freezing. It houses freezers, deep-freeze warehouses and similar facilities to freeze food efficiently and thus maximize its shelf life.

A particular challenge in this project was the exclusive use of natural refrigerants. This aspect required precise planning and implementation to ensure that the system works effectively, safely and in an environmentally friendly manner.

About the clinic

The central clinic, which opened its doors for the first time in 1965, replaced four existing hospital sites at the time. In the following decades, the city of Landshut has continuously invested in the expansion of medical services, which has made Landshut Clinic a specialist hospital with a wide range of treatments.

In the current year, the clinic comprises 20 main and inpatient departments, various day clinics and certified treatment centers. With a total of 568 planned beds and places, as a municipal company it fulfills a supra-regional care mandate for western Lower Bavaria and beyond.

The approximately 1500 dedicated employees guarantee competent patient care around the clock.
